Say hello to Joe Marples

Joe is a home manager of our Beech House home. Joe started his career in care with Ryde House Group in 2021 when he joined as a support worker. Joe quickly became an important part of the home and stepped up to a PIC (Person In Charge) role in 2022. Joe continued his climb within the home and company by becoming a Senior Support Worker in 2023, and then finally making his latest step up to Home Manager earlier this year in February 2024.

Joe has showed his ambition and dedication to his role and the company by continuing to push himself and those around them and has been rewarded as the youngest member of The Care Show 30 under 30 class of 2024.

Joe was inducted into the class of 2024 not only for his leadership skills, but for his passion for social care in delivering attentive and outstanding care for the people he cares his. It was noted his meteoric rise in his career is worthy of praise and recognition. Joe is an inspiration to his peers and is a great advocate of the career pathways available in social care and has proven that care isn’t just a job, but a career. Joe goes above and beyond in his role and since joining as a support worker, has shown compassion and professionalism in everything he does.

Joe had this to say on being inducted into the class of 2024:

“It's an honour to win an award for doing my job, and then to be the youngest winner as well makes it even better. I feel like I’ve been here forever, and I love it! and I’ve met some incredible people, I learn something new everyday. The job has shaped me – the good and the bad, i’ve had some bad days, like in any job but the good days outweigh the bad days. Winning an award like this is great but now I’ll have to look at what else I can win! I wouldn’t have ever even been in consideration without the amazing team at Beech House, we’ve battled through the tough times and enjoyed the good, but we’ve been in it together and remained positive throughout. Pressure? What pressure?”

and say hello to
Elinor Hayward

Elinor is a Home Manager of our Ryde House home. Elinor started her career in care with Ryde House Group in 2017 as a Support Worker. Elinor progressed quickly and within 6 months  completed her medication books, became medication trained and completed PIC shifts. Elinor transferred location and moved to Ryde House a year and a half later and quickly became a PIC (Person In Charge) at Ryde House. Elinor continued her path of progression by shortly after becoming a Senior Support Worker and completed her QCF level 3. In 2023, Elinor made her latest step up to Home Manager of Ryde House and is still loving her role, making differences in the lives of the people we support.

Elinor has showed her dedication and passion to her role and the company by continuing to help and support staff whilst completing her QCF level 5, and has been rewarded as a member of The Care Show 30 under 30 class of 2024.

Elinor was inducted into the class of 2024 after proving herself to be an invaluable asset to her team, consistently demonstrating unwavering support and encouragement for all staff members. Elinor fosters an environment where her team feel empowered to take risks and explore different activities with the people we support, enhancing their experiences and quality of life. Elinor displays genuine care and consideration for the wants and needs of the people we support, ensuring that their voices are heard, and their preferences are prioritised. Elinor never fails to celebrate important occasions in their lives, adding a personal touch that is greatly appreciated by both staff and the people we support alike.

Elinor had this to say on being inducted into the class of 2024:

"I don’t expect awards for doing my job, I do the job because of the care I have for all the individuals we support. Seeing the impact and differences I have made over the years with numerous service users, supporting them achieve their goals and seeing them happy is the biggest reward in itself. This job has made me into the person I am today, I have learnt so much from the individuals we support which has contributed to my progression. Winning this award is lovely and an honour but I wouldn’t have had the opportunity to win this award without the amazing individuals we support and the staff team and Ryde House."

Let's hear what their colleagues have to say...

Lucy Carson, our Head of Operations has this to say on the winners -

"I’m so proud to see that two of our young managers have been recognised at the Care Show for their fantastic work and contribution to care. We work alongside these individuals every day, so we have the daily honour of witnessing their impact first-hand - it’s nice to see that this is recognised and celebrated at such a big annual event. I feel privileged to work at Ryde House Group, and this feeling can be largely attributed to the joy it brings me to work alongside such a fantastic group of people; they are extremely dedicated and hardworking, and above all else - they are caring to their core."

Trevor Janeway, a Registered Manager of Ryde House Group has this to say on the winners -

"What an achievement for both of these managers to be awarded the 30 under 30 award. I am so proud that they represent Ryde House Group. They have achieved so much within their time here and it has been a pleasure to see them develop within their roles and into the managers they are today. I have watched Joe progress through the company and take on challenges that not many people his age have had to do. He has become an asset to Ryde House Group. Eli stepped into the management position and has shown fantastic results through her continuous care and commitment to the staff and people we support. It is wonderful to see them both being recognised for their hard work and dedication. Pressure makes diamonds and this has proven the case for these two."
